Two Post-doctoral positions are available to work at the Adaptive Brain Lab, University of Cambridge, UK (http://www.abg.psychol.cam.ac.uk).
Research in the lab aims to understand how humans of all ages translate sensory experience into complex decisions and adaptive behaviors. We address this challenge using an interdisciplinary approach that combines behavioral paradigms, computational modeling and multimodal brain imaging (MRI, EEG, MEG, TMS). The successful applicants will join a team working at the interface between neuroscience, computer science, engineering and clinical applications.
The first position will focus on behavioral and brain imaging studies that will combine ultra high-field (7T) imaging and MEG to investigate the neural mechanisms that mediate learning and brain plasticity. Further interventional approaches (TMS, neuropharmacology) will be employed to test brain connectivity and circuits that support flexible behavior.
The second position will focus on advanced computational modeling of behavioral and multimodal brain imaging data including convolutional networks, and machine learning approaches. The goal of this work is to model the healthy brain and develop applications for earlier diagnosis and intervention in cases of disease and dysfunction.
Applicants should have or be close to obtaining a PhD, and have a strong academic track record, in a relevant area (e.g., Neuroscience, Psychology, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics). Programming skills are essential and experience with computational modeling and/or brain imaging preferable.
Closing date for applications is March 29th, 2017
