Postdoctoral Associate in Visual Neuroscience
University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, USA

The University of Minnesota's Center for Magnetic Resonance Research is searching for a Postdoctoral Associate in Visual Neuroscience. This will be in the newly created laboratory of Dr. Kendrick Kay (http://cvnlab.net <http://cvnlab.net/>). The laboratory studies representation, attention and perception in the human visual system using computational and neuroimaging methods. Ongoing projects are aimed towards revealing novel insights into the computational architecture of the visual system by exploiting the gains in spatial resolution and signal-to-noise ratio afforded by the high-field measurements.

Applicants are required to have a Ph.D., strong quantitative and technical skills, and excellent spoken and written communication skills. Proficiency in MATLAB, or an equivalent programming language, and UNIX/Linux environments is also required. Prior experience in vision research, fMRI data collection and analysis, and/or computational modeling is desirable. Responsibilities include data collection, data analysis, development of software tools, and preparation of manuscripts.

To apply, go to https://www.myu.umn.edu/employment/ <https://www.myu.umn.edu/employment/> and search for 302081. Application materials include a CV, a brief statement of research interests and how they may fit with the interests of the laboratory, a representative first-author paper, and the names and e-mail addresses of three references. Informal inquiries are welcome. The position can start as early as August 1, 2015.

The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities (UMTC), is among the largest public research universities in the country, offering undergraduate, graduate, and professional students a multitude of opportunities for study and research. Located at the heart of one of the nation's most vibrant, diverse metropolitan communities, students on the campuses in Minneapolis and St. Paul benefit from extensive partnerships with world-renowned health centers, international corporations, government agencies, and arts, nonprofit, and public service organizations.
