Post-Doctoral Engineering Fellowship at UCLA
A full-time, post-doctoral fellowship is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Daniel Lu, UCLA Department of Neurosurgery, to study the neural networks within the spinal cord and leverage this understanding to facilitate recovery of motor function after spinal cord injury (SCI). Qualified candidate must have strong background in the scientific method, data analysis, signal processing, and statistics; training in bio-engineering and computational biology. The candidate will be working with an inter-disciplinary team of researchers from molecular biology, physiology, and engineering to test therapeutic interventions and impact on motor function in human and animals. Specific to the candidate, s/he will analyze the kinematic and neurophysiological data to assess intervention efficacy, engineer and devise tools or computational methods to finely assess motor improvements. Fluency in programming and coding in MatLab to analyze large volume of data is a must. We are seeking independent, motivated individual with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
