FACULTY POSITION IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING AT UC
IRVINE

The Department of Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine
invites applications for a faculty position in the general area of
artificial intelligence and machine learning. UC Irvine has international
visibility in these areas with faculty such as Rina Dechter, Anima
Anandkumar, Pierre Baldi, Alex Ihler, and Padhraic Smyth, as well as strong
research groups in closely related areas such as computer vision,
bioinformatics, and databases. The computer science department is colocated
in the same school and building with the Department of Statistics and the
Department of Informatics, offering a rich collaborative research
environment. AI and machine learning have high visibility on campus through
a number of different centers and institutes, including the Center for
Machine Learning and Intelligent Systems (http://cml.ics.uci.edu), the
newly formed UCI Data Science Initiative (http://datascience.uci.edu), and
the Institute for Genomics and Bioinformatics http://www/igb/uci.edu),
providing many excellent opportunities for collaboration with the Schools
of Biological Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, Physical Sciences, Social
Sciences, and Education.
