Postdoctoral position in Brain-Behavior study and EEG data analyses of the Coord-Age project at Aix Marseille University, France
Title: EEG data recording and analysis for the study of brain-behavior relationships in older Adults
Keywords: nonlinear dynamics, EEG, spatiotemporal data analysis
Context:
We seek a postdoctoral candidate who will take part in the collaborative Coord-Age project (Institut des Sciences du Mouvement and Institut des Neurosciences des Systèmes). The project consortium is composed of the Behavior Group (J.J. Temprado) and Theoretical Neuroscience Group (V. Jirsa), as well as other experts in biomechanics and motor control at the Institute of Movement Sciences. The postdoc will work under the direct supervision of Jean Jacques Temprado and Viktor Jirsa in collaboration with other members of the team (other postdocs in brain and behavior, modeling and neuromuscular synergies).
The successful candidates will study the relationship between dynamic mechanisms underlying the emergence of brain function and coordinated behavior. The objective of this research is to understand the correlated manifestations of variability at brain and behavioral levels. He/she will participate in the experimental and theoretical program and will be responsible for the EEG data analysis in older adults. Specifically, a successful candidate will have some prior experience in spatiotemporal data analysis (preference EEG/MEG, knowledge of PCA, ICA, etc.), nonlinear dynamic measures (mutual information, MSE, etc.) and excellent Matlab (maybe Python) skills. The candidate will be fully invested technically and conceptually in the experimental program in close collaboration with other postdocs. The results of the work will aid in the development of a larger conceptual framework on ageing and frailty, integrating other contributions from brain imaging and modeling.

Profile:
• PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Neurosciences
• Expertise in nonlinear methods of time series analysis, EEG data processing, kinematic analysis
• Programming skills for data recording and analysis (Labview and Matlab)
• Fluency in spoken and written English is obligatory, French will be also appreciated.

Contract
• 12 months renewable based on performance, starting as of January 2014
• Salary: ~1900 Euros/month depending on experience (<3 years of > 3 years)
• Location: Campus of Luminy, Institute of Movement Sciences and Campus of La Timone, Institut de Neuroscience des Systèmes , Aix-Marseille University, France
