Université de Sherbrooke invites applications for a full time tenure-track position in the Computer Science Department and is looking for strong candidates, eligible for the Tier 1 Canada Research Chair program. Candidates from all disciplines of computer science are invited to apply.

The Canada Research Chair program is dedicated to fostering excellence in research and supports the scientific program of the most accomplished and promising researchers. Tier 1 Chairs have seven year terms, renewable once, and are intended for outstanding researchers acknowledged by their peers as world leaders in their fields. Its yearly research funding is enough to support around 4 Ph.D. students.

The Université de Sherbrooke has more than 40 000 students studying in all three cycles (B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D.) and is among Canada's most innovative universities. It is situated 150 kilometres from Montreal, in the beautiful Eastern Townships region. Its Computer Science Department includes 19 professors organized in very active research teams, primarily in artificial intelligence (machine learning, data mining, planning), imaging and digital media (computer vision, medical imaging) and software engineering.
