Postdoctoral Position
Computational Neuroscience, Biological and Beyond Turing Computation
University of Massachusetts, Amherst, collaboration with EPFL Switzerland
Start date: ASAP -- This is a funded position
An immediate opening is available for a Postdoctoral Research Associate
in the BINDS laboratory of Prof. Hava Siegelmann. The research focuses
on adaptive memory in neural structures (blocks), complexity computer
science theory, superior brain-inspired computation, dynamical systems
and complex systems, and perhaps some novel robotics as a demonstration
of computational power.
The position will run one year and extended based on performance.
BACKGROUND:
REQUIRED:
High analytical skills -- math or physics, nonlinear dynamics,
theoretical computer science in the field of higher-class complexity,
perfect programming skills,
Experience in machine learning techniques and neural networks,
DESIRED:
Understanding in human/animal learning,
Some knowledge in human experiments, brain structure and development.
Complex systems, dynamical systems
_
Great communication skills -- both oral and written are musts.
DUTIES: The Postdoc will play a prominent role in a project with Siegelmann.
Applicants should send a CV or resume, statement of research interests
and the names and contact information for two references to Prof. Hava
