Connectionists: PhD position: Intelligent Sensing at QMUL

Fully funded PhD studentship in Resource Constrained Intelligent Sensing
School of Electronic Engineering & Computer Science, Queen Mary University of London

Conventional approaches to machine perception apply supervised machine learning techniques to predict semantic quantities of interest from a fixed set of low-level features. This project will address the meta challenges of learning which features to extract, and which learning algorithms to apply on a dynamic case-by-case basis to do the best possible job within a constrained amount of computing resource. Applications include real-time multi-media sensing and "big data" analysis.
