*UCL Ear Institute*

*Research Associate Position*

This project aims to understand when visual information can enhance
listening, and how integration of visual information into auditory cortex
underpins this process. Experimental work will include training animals in
listening tasks and using state-of-the-art recording techniques to measure
the activity of single neurons and populations of neurons in the auditory
cortex of freely moving animals, whilst they discriminate auditory-visual
stimuli.

The successful applicant will have a PhD in auditory or multisensory
neuroscience, or a related discipline. Experience in one or more of the
following areas is essential; electrophysiological recordings, animal or
human psychophysics, digital signal processing, computational techniques
and/or MATLAB programming.

The post is funded by a Wellcome Trust / Royal Society Fellowship award to
Dr Jennifer Bizley and is available for 3 years in the first instance.

Informal enquiries about the project and position are welcome; please
contact Dr Jennifer Bizley (*j.bizley at ucl.ac.uk* <j.bizley at ucl.ac.uk>).
Applications should be made through UCL’s on-line application process (
