The Graduate Program in Neural Computation (PNC) at Carnegie Mellon
University and the University of Pittsburgh is now accepting
applications.

In recognition of the increased demand for computationally-oriented
researchers, Carnegie Mellon University, in collaboration with the
University of Pittsburgh, last year created this Ph.D. program in
computational neuroscience. This program is seeking qualified
applicants to begin their graduate training in the Fall of 2008.

As neuroscientists have applied new technologies to acquire and
analyze large data sets, and have developed new models for
understanding increasingly complicated neurobiological systems,
quantitative methods have become centrally important to their effort.
The new graduate program takes advantage of the unusually large and
highly collaborative group of faculty and students in neuroscience in
the Pittsburgh community, and builds on the existing, but non-degree
granting, graduate program of the Center for the Neural Basis of
Cognition. Training in all areas of computational neuroscience is
available with special focus on application of dynamical systems,
machine learning and statistical approaches to the understanding of
the brain at all levels.

Details about program curriculum, training faculty and contact
information are available at:

The deadline for applications is January 1, 2008.
