Dear Connectionists,
Several postdoctoral and research assistant positions are now
available in a multidisciplinary team at the University of Queensland
in the area of computational/cognitive neuroscience. The focus of the
positions includes electrophysiology, mathematical/computational
modelling, robotics, neuroimaging, information systems, and software
support.
This project is funded by a large-scale 5-year "Thinking Systems"
grant from the Australian Research Council. Details of the

process. The deadline for applications is November 8th 2006, though
applications will continue to be considered until the positions are

Queensland is one of the top 50 universities in the world. It provides
an excellent environment for interdisciplinary research, and is
currently investing AU$200M in the general area of Biotechnology. This
includes AU$50M for a new neuroscience institute,

currently under construction. UQ is in Brisbane, the capital of
Queensland, a cosmopolitan city of 1.5 million people with excellent
facilities, a vibrant cultural environment, and a subtropical
climate. Queensland is also home to attractions such as tropical
rainforests and the Great Barrier Reef.
