Dear colleagues,

below please find an announcement for a prestigious faculty position in at 
the School of Computing, University of Leeds in the UK. This is a five 
year fellowship, in the expectation of leading to a permanent academic 
position.

Leeds University has a high concentration of high quality research and 
thriving research in the School of Computing spanning theory of computing, 
(Algorithms and Complexity, Program Analysis and Logic Programming), AI 
(including computer vision, NLP, knowledge representation and learning) 
and multidisciplinary informatics (including scientific computing, grid 
computing, biosystems/computational neuroscience, and Visualization and 
Virtual Reality). The city of Leeds has acquired a much deserved 
reputation as a cultural, commercial and social hub of the north of 
England, with internationally respected theatre, opera, sporting and other 
activities within easy reach.

Academic Fellowship in the area of Modelling, Imaging and Design


A prestigious appointment is available in an internationally-leading
research group within the School of Computing. Applications are invited
from individuals with post-doctoral (or equivalent) experience who have
established their potential for excellence in scholarship and research.
The Fellowship is five years in length and, subject to satisfactory
completion of probation, guarantees an established academic post. In
the early stages there will be a strong emphasis on research.

Based in the School of Computing, topics include Computational Modelling
and Simulation; Vision and Imaging; and, System Architecture Design for
Internet Computing.

people already in permanent employment will not normally be eligible for
appointment.

Fellows will normally be appointed to Research Staff Grade IA or II
(£19,460 - £29,128) or (£27,116- £35,883) depending on experience.
(More senior appointments than this may, however be considered for
particularly outstanding appointments.)
