Postdoctoral Position in Computational Neuroscience and fMRI
Department of Neuroscience
Georgetown University

A postdoctoral position is available immediately to study the neural
mechanisms underlying real world object recognition in cortex using a
combination of modeling, psychophysics, and fMRI. The project is part
of an NIH-funded collaboration between the Riesenhuber lab at
Georgetown and labs at MIT (Jim DiCarlo, Earl Miller, Tomaso Poggio),
Caltech (Christof Koch) and Northwestern (David Ferster). Candidates
should have experience in two of the following: computational
neuroscience, visual psychophysics, fMRI. Experience with fMRI is a
particular asset as a key component of the project will be the
experimental testing of model predictions with fMRI, using
Georgetown's new 3T magnet. For more information, see
http://riesenhuberlab.neuro.georgetown.edu/Riesenhuber_lab_jobs.html .
Interested candidates should send a CV, representative reprints, and
the names of three references to Maximilian Riesenhuber
(mr287 at georgetown.edu). Review of applications will begin November 1,
with a possibility for interviews at this year's SFN meeting in New
Orleans.
