Adaptive Behaviour Research Group
Department of Psychology
The University of Sheffield
RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
Applications are invited for a research associate post, tenable for
three years from 1st July 2003. This is a joint project between the
Adaptive Behaviour Research Group at the University of Sheffield
(www.shef.ac.uk/~abrg) and the Intelligent Autonomous Systems
Laboratory at the University of the West of England in Bristol

vibrissae. The work at Sheffield will focus on the development of
computational models of the whisker-processing pathways in the rat
brain (although no work on animals is involved). Applicants should
have a good honours degree in Neuroscience, Mathematics, Physics,
Engineering or related field, and should hold or expect to hold a
PhD, preferably in computational neuroscience or a related field of
mathematical modelling.
Salary on the IA/IB scale for Research Staff in the range of
18,265-23,296 UKP per annum, according to experience.
