Ph.D. positions
F. C. Donders Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging
University of Nijmegen
Nijmegen, The Netherlands

Two Ph.D. positions are available to study the role of neuronal coherence in
human cognition in the Neurophysiology group of the F. C. Donders Centre for
Cognitive Neuroimaging, headed by Pascal Fries (see Fries et al. Science
2001; Fries et al. Nature Neuroscience, 2001; Fries et al. J. Neurosci.
2002).

The F.C. Donders Centre is a recently established research centre for
cognitive neuroscience (see www.kun.nl/fcdonders). The centre provides, in
one location, a 151 channel whole head MEG system with integrated and
coregistered EEG, several 128 channel EEG scanning facilities and two (f)MRI
scanners (1.5 T and 3T). All facilities are dedicated for research in
cognitive neuroscience. The centre has an international staff and
communication is in English.

The Ph.D. candidates will be trained in the use of all imaging technologies
available at the Centre and will use them in combination to work on projects
concerned with the functional role of neuronal coherence for human
visuo-motor and cross-modal integration. The ideal candidates have good
knowledge of system and cognitive neuroscience, experience in programming
(e. g. Matlab), an understanding of signal processing basics and a
commitment to scientific excellence. The real candidates have some of those
features :-) .

The positions are for 4 years. Please send e-mail applications to:
