A two-year postdoc position is available within the context of the
fellowship program described below. The position involves the use of
neural networks, genetic algorithms/programming, or related computational
methods to study hemispheric specialization or related aspects of the
neurobiological basis of language. A strong computational background is
expected for this position. Applications arriving by March 15, 2002,
will receive full consideration, with a target starting date of this
coming summer or early fall.

Post-doctoral Fellowships: Cognitive Neuroscience of Language & its Disorders
Two-year National Research Service Award fellowships are available at the
University of Maryland, Baltimore and College Park campuses. Training
opportunities will provide experience in the application of contemporary
research methods (including computational modeling, cognitive neuropsychology,
event-related potentials and functional neuroimaging) to the topic of normal
and/or disordered language processing. Applicants with doctoral degrees in
related basic science areas (computer science, neuroscience, linguistics,
cognitive psychology, etc.) and clinical disciplines (speech/language
pathology; clinical neuropsychology) are invited to apply. Applicants must
be U.S. citizens or permanent residents to be considered, under the terms
