           Critical Systems and Data-Driven Technology

Department of Computer Science and School of Mathematical Sciences
                       Exeter University

Highly motivated candidates are sought for a post-doctoral position to
join an EPSRC funded project applying inductive technologies (neural
networks, Bayes nets etc) to safety critical systems. This project is
a collaboration with the National Air Traffic Service and the Royal
London Hospital, who will be closely involved. We shall address the
theoretical and practical issues of managing critical systems with
inductive technologies.

We are looking for post-doctoral workers with a strong background in
machine learning, data analysis or statistical classification,
together with an interest in applications.

The Pattern Analysis and Statistics groups at the University of Exeter
have a strong tradition in data analysis, statistical modelling,
pattern recognition and critical systems. Successful applicants will
join a team working with Professors Partridge (Computer Science) and
Krzanowski (Statistics), and Dr Everson (Computer Science).
