Dear Connectionists

It is my pleasure to announce the publication of a NEW BOOK:

                  INFORMATION DYNAMICS:Foundations and Applications

                                       by

                     Gustavo DECO and Bernd SCHUERMANN

Editorial: SPRINGER-VERLAG

 Approx. 304 pp. 89 figs., ISBN 0-387-95047-8

Information Dynamics presents an interdisciplinary treatment of
nonlinear dynamical systems with an emphasis on complex systems which
transmit information in time and space. The book offers a new
theoretical approach to dynamical systems from an information theory
perspective.

The goal of the book is to provide a detailed and unified study of the
flow of information in a quantitative manner, utilizing methods and
techniques from information theory, time series analysis, nonlinear
dynamics and neural networks. The authors use analysis of test-bed
simulations, empirical data, and real-world applications to give
concrete perspectives and reinforcement for the key conceptual ideas
and methods. The formulation provides a unique and consistent
conceptual framework for the problem of discovering knowledge behind
empirical data.
