The poster session is an event within the NATO ARW, LFTNC
2001. It will be the opportunity for the participants to
give their own contribution on the topics of the workshop.
This contribution will complement the view on the future
trends in neural computation that will be given by the key
speakers who will present critical issues and proposals for
new very promising research guidelines in the next few
years.

The topics for the contribution include:

* limitations of neural computation
* complexity issues in the continuum
* continuous optimisation based learning
* generalisation
* real-world applications showing the benefits of
  neural approaches
* integration of neural models with knowledge-based models

The papers selected by the program committee will be
published in separate proceedings titled

"LFTNC-SC 2001 - 2001 NATO ARW on Limits and Future Trends
of Neural Computing".

Refer to the ARW web page for further details:

Submission procedure
--------------------

Authors should submit an extended abstract in English, not
exceeding 8 pages (A4 paper, 12 pt size for text, double
spacing) including tables, figures and references.
Submission should include the authors' names and
affiliations. The corresponding author should be clearly
identified providing his/her mail address, telephone and
fax numbers, and email address.

The extended abstract must be sent to Prof. Marco Maggini
by e-mail (maggini at dii.unisi.it). The message body must
contain the following information: title, list of authors
and their affiliations, keywords, a short abstract, and
contact information for the corresponding author. The
subject of the e-mail should be "LFTNC2001 Submission". The
paper should be attached to the message as a postscript or
pdf file. Long files should be compressed before emailing,
by using compress, pkzip, or winzip. Please, do not send
Word or Latex files.

Corresponding authors will be notified by email within one
week after receiving the submission. A paper number will be
provided in the receipt to identify each paper. The list of
received papers will be also posted on the web site of the
LFTNC 2001.

Acceptance/rejection will be notified by JULY 8, 2001. A
postscript or pdf file of the final version of the accepted
papers will be due by SEPTEMBER 8, 2001. Visit the author's
kit page on the workshop web site for detailed instructions
concerning the preparation of the final manuscript.

Papers will be included in the proceedings only if at least
one author will have been registered at the NATO ARW LFTNC
2001 by the given deadline.
