Dear members,

Polish Neural Networks Society plans a special issue of the TASK
Quarterly Journal on neural networks. Of our particular interest are
longer papers of tutorial nature, perhaps longer versions of papers
that you have prepared for other journals or conferences but had to
shorten and thus some important details were left unpublished.

                        CALL FOR PAPERS
                TASK Quarterly 2002 Special Issue
                        "Neural Networks"
******************************************************************

This special issue will be devoted to neural and other computational
intelligence methods and applications. Special emphasis will be put
on:

models that do more than classification and approximation,
systems that go beyond associative capabilities of simple networks,
for example are not based on vectors in feature spaces of fixed
dimensions;
understanding the data and building theories,
modular networks,
multi-strategy learning,
general theories of learning,
hybrid systems, such as the neuro-fuzzy systems combining neural and
symbolic components,
simulations of brain functions and models with spiking neurons.

Deadline for submission: September 30, 2001
Notification of acceptance: January 31, 2002
Format: no restrictions on length, detailed instructions on the
journal WWW page:

Editors
Prof. Wlodzislaw Duch, Nicholas Copernicus University, Poland.
Prof. Danuta Rutkowska, Technical University of Czestochowa, Poland

The TASK Quarterly journal
http://www.task.gda.pl/quart/
started in 1997 and is kept on a very decent level, with strict
refereeing system. The journal covers all subjects of computational
nature, accepts and prints color illustrations (free of charge). It is
covered by INSPEC abstracts and has a regular subscription of about
400 (for a scientific journal it is not bad). So far two special
issues on informatics in medicine have been published. The editors may
send you sample copies if you send them an email to the
quarterly at task.gda.pl address.
