The research group Neuroinformatics (Prof. Helge Ritter)
at the University of Bielefeld is offering two research project
positions for a
Research Assistant with salary according to BAT-IIa.
The positions will be affiliated
with the Special Collaborative Research Unit (Sonderforschungsbereich)
SFB 360: Situated Artificial Communicators (
http://www.sfb360.uni-bielefeld.de/sfbengl.html ).
Research topics of the two projects are
(i) neural approaches for visual robot arm instruction based
on teaching by showing and (ii) development of a
human-machine interface for state visualization and
configuration of distributed system
components of the situated communicator prototype system.
Both projects provide the opportunity for a dissertation.
Applicants should have a university degree
(Masters or german diploma) in computer science,
electrical engineering or physics and should
have a good knowledge in Unix/C/C++ programming.
A good background in the fields of robotics/computer vision/
visualization/neural networks is desireable.
The University of Bielefeld follows a policy to increase the
