The IEICE (Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication
Engineers, http://www.ieice.or.jp/) Transactions on Electronics announces
a "Special Issue on New Technologies in Signal Processing for Electromagnetic-
wave Sensing and Imaging" to be published in December 2001.
Please visit:
http://www.ee.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp/~ahirose/ieice-special-issue2001/
The Special Issue aims to publish articles on recent progress in science,
theories, techniques, applications and systems concerning signal processing
in electromagnetic-wave / lightwave sensing and imaging. The Editorial
Committee solicits submissions of Papers and Letters in related wide
research fields.
1. Scope
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
Science and application of statistics in rough surface scattering
Polarimetry / interferometry science and technology
Phase unwrapping and residue analysis / elimination
Speckle and interference noise reduction
Inverse scattering and image reconstruction
Neural network and soft-computing in classification, restoration and
segmentation
Wavelet transform and linear / nonlinear processing
Migration method
MUSIC method and high-resolution estimation
Temporal and spatial coherence synthesis
SAR theory and system
Polarimetric / interferometric radar theory and system
Near-field electromagnetic-wave imaging and system
Remote sensing of the earth, ocean and atmosphere
Compensation of fluctuation and distortion in imaging and sensing
2. Manuscript Deadline: March 31, 2001

3. Submission of Papers
Prospective authors are requested to send four copies of their manuscript
by March 31, 2001, to Dr. Akira Hirose, Guest Editor, at the address
shown below. In the preparation, please refer to "Information for Authors"
of the IEICE Transactions on Electronics for details. The information is
also found at http://www.ieice.or.jp. Papers should not exceed 8 printed
pages, whereas Letters 2 pages. When submitting, please indicate "Special
Issue on New Technologies in Signal Processing for Electromagnetic-wave
Sensing and Imaging" with red ink on the envelope and each front page of
the four copies. Please note that the period for resubmission (normally
60 days) after review may be shortened due to the publication schedule.
Submitted manuscripts (Papers / Letters) will be reviewed by referees
according to the ordinary rules of the Transactions Editorial Committee.
4. Mailing address
Four copies of the complete manuscript should be submitted to:
