   IDIAP invites applications for the positions of

                        Speech Processing Group Leader

                                  as well as

            Senior Research Positions in Speech and Computer Vision

   Qualified applicants are assumed to have a Ph. D. in Computer Science,
   Electrical Engineering or a related field. They must have an outstanding
   research record and a proven excellence in leadership, project
   management, and supervision of Ph. D. students. They should master
   state-of-the-art techniques and theories related to speech or vision 
   processing, hidden Markov Models and neural networks, learning algorithms, 
   and statistical learning theory.

   About IDIAP

   IDIAP is a semi-private non-profit research institute, affiliated with
   the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at Lausanne (EPFL) and the
   University of Geneva. For the last 10 years, IDIAP has mainly been
   carrying research and development in the fields of speech and speaker
   recognition, computer vision, and machine learning.

   Location

   IDIAP is located in the town of Martigny in Valais, a scenic region in
   the south of Switzerland, surrounded by some of the highest mountains in
   Europe which offer some of the best skiing, hiking, and climbing. It is
   within close proximity to Lausanne , and lake Geneva, and centrally
   located for travel to other parts of Europe.
