 DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Computer Systems
 
 The Department of Computer Science & Electrical Engineering within the
 Faculty of Engineering, Physical Sciences and Architecture is one of the
 largest in Australia, with a strong research base and a large postgraduate
 research school.  The position(s) available are continuing, with level of
 appointment depending on candidate's qualifications and experience.
 
 Appointees must have a strong commitment to research and demonstrated
 achievement appropriate to the level of appointment in one of the following
 areas of computer systems: Distributed Systems; Intelligent
 Machines/Systems; or Microelectronics/ Digital System Design. Opportunities
 for research into computer systems are extensive, particularly through
 involvement with the departmental Intelligent Systems and Digital Systems
 research groups, large research centres (such as CRC for Distributed
 Systems Technology and ARC Special Research Centre in Applied Genomics) and
 the proposed Australian Microelectronics Network. Further information on

 Appointees will also be expected to contribute to well-established programs
 in Engineering (Computer Systems, Electrical, Software) and Information
 Technology, including supervision of Honours, Masters, and PhD students,
 and to contribute to the development of postgraduate coursework and to the
 internationalisation of the department's teaching.  To these ends,
 appropriate levels of knowledge and demonstrated expertise in more than one
 of the following areas are essential: Computer Architecture; Digital System
 Design; Distributed Systems; Embedded/Systems Programming; and Neural
 Computing.
 
 The appointments will be continuing at Levels B, C or D.  Salary ranges
 are: Aus$49,535 - $58,823 per annum (Level B); $60,681 - $69,968 per
 annum (Level C); $73,064 - $80,495 per annum (Level D), plus employer
 superannuation contribution of 17%.
