PHZ is a small Boston area company founded in 1993 which invests
client money in global financial markets using state-of-the-art
proprietary statistical models. Our principals are Tomaso Poggio, Jim
Hutchinson, and Xiru Zhang, and our partners include Commodities
Corporation LLC, a Goldman Sachs company. PHZ's strong trading
performance to date has led to exceptional client interest and asset
growth. To further expand our business, PHZ is now looking for a
talented, hard working person to join our research and development
team to work on our next generation of trading systems.
The successful applicant for this position will have a Ph.D. in
computer science, math, finance, or a related field, or 4-5 years of
work experience in an applied research setting. Experience with
machine learning / advanced statistical modeling techniques
(e.g. neural networks, genetic algorithms, etc) and their application
to real world numerical data sets is required, as are strong software
engineering skills (esp. on PCs and Unix). Knowledge of financial
markets is also a plus. Depending on candidate interests and skills,
this position will involve or lead into basic research and application

and analysis, development of our trading and risk management software
platform, and/or trading and monitoring of live models.

responsibilities and compensation. Initial compensation will be
competitive based on qualifications, possibly including partnership
equity. Interested applicants should email resumes (ascii format) to
