I would like to announce the following open positions:

2 Ph. D. positions (AIO) available.

The "Intelligent Autonomous Systems (IAS)" group of the Computer Science
Department, University of Amsterdam, is looking for two enthousiastic,
motivated students for two AIO positions.

Project 1:
"Learning group behaviour in multiple robot systems", with as case study
"Robot soccer".

Project 2:
"Classification of radar profiles with neural networks"

For project 1 we look for a student in the field of Computer Science,
specialised in Artificial Intelligence. For project 2 we look for a student
in the field of Computer Science, Physics or Electrical engineering.

An AIO position is a paid four years appointment as a research trainee with the explicit aim that a Ph.D. thesis be produced in those four years.

The monthly salary will start at dfl 2151 gross, increasing to a maximum of dfl 3841 gross in the fourth year. The appointment is for a period of maximally four years and should result in a Ph.D. A training and supervision plan will be drawn up, stipulating the aims and content of the proposed research project and the teaching obligations involved.
