POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN HYBRID PROBLEMS

Applications are invited for a 3-year position in the PHYSTA (TMR: Training
and Mobility) EC Network at the Centre for Neural Networks, Department of
Mathematics, King's College, Strand, London, WC2R2LS, UK to work with Prof
JG Taylor. The research will be to develop neural network modular and
hierarchical hybrid architectures which are able to create, in an adaptive
manner, subsymbolic representations especially for emotionally-loaded inputs
based on speech and image analysis. These will then be related to processing
at a symbolic level involved with the inputs. The applicant should have a
PhD preferably in Neural Networks, if possible with experience in applying
neural networks to problems in vision, speech or a related area. The
applicant will also be expected to make short trips to the laboratories of
the other partners in the TMR Network (S Gielen, Nijmegen; B Apolloni,
Milan; S Kollias, Athens are the relevant ones). Please send your CV by
reply.
