Postdoctoral position in Computational Neuroscience at Stony Bro

postdoctoral appointment in computational neurobiology, to be held at
Stony Brook, and financed by the Swartz Fund for Computational
Neuroscience. The position is described in the attached announcement,

on projects closely linked to experimental neuroscience, and that

** Stony Brook University Program in Computational Neuroscience**

The Swartz Foundation has recently announced the establishment of the
Swartz Fund for Computational Neuroscience to promote collaborative
studies between neuroscientists at SUNY- Stony Brook and at Cold
Spring Harbor Laboratories and researchers working in the
mathematical, physical and computer sciences.  The aim is to
understand the algorithms that the brain actually uses. Stony Brook
and Cold Spring Harbor have strong programs in the areas cited above,
and support from the Swartz Fund will allow the growth of  interactive
research in brain theory. In the first year the Stony Brook component
of this initiative will hire 1-2 scientists at the postdoctoral level
to work either with an existing faculty member, or independently but
in association with existing faculty.The salary will be highly
competitive. Candidates should submit a one page summary of their
research interests and goals, a CV and the names of 3 referees. For
full consideration, applications should be received by September 30
1997. The fellow will be eligible for further Swartz Fund support.
