Neural Computing Research Group
Dept of Computer Science & Applied Mathematics
Aston University, Birmingham, UK
"Automatic Analysis of Fluorescence In-Situ Hybridization Images"
-----------------------------------------------------------------
*** Full details at http://www.ncrg.aston.ac.uk/ ***
A mathematically-oriented researcher is required to work on the
development of robust pattern recognition algorithms for the automatic
interpretation of fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) images
arising from the analysis of human chromosomes. Candidates should have
an established research background in statistical pattern recognition
including the use of techniques such as neural networks. Ideally,
candidates should also have experience of developing solutions to
problems in biomedical image interpretation. The successful candidate
will join the thriving Neural Computing Research Group at Aston
University, and will work under the supervision of Professor Chris
Bishop.
Conditions of Service
---------------------
The salary will be on the RA 1A scale, within the range 15,159 to 22,785
UK pounds. This salary scale is subject to annual increments.
