NINTH AUSTRALIAN CONFERENCE ON NEURAL NETWORKS (ACNN'98)
Brisbane, Australia Feb 11-13, 1998
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
The ninth Australian conference on neural networks will be held in
Brisbane on Feb 11-13 1998 at the University of Queensland. ACNN'98 is
the annual national meeting of the Australian neural network
community. It is a multi-disciplinary meeting and seeks contributions
from Neuroscientists, Engineers, Computer Scientists, Mathematicians,
Physicists and Psychologists.
ACNN'98 will feature a number of invited speakers. The program will
include lecture presentations, (including special sessions), and
poster sessions. Extended abstracts will be distributed to attendees
with proceedings being distributed to attendees shortly after the
conference.
Pre-Conference Workshops and Tutorials
--------------------------------------
Proposals for Pre-Conference Workshops and Tutorials are
invited. These are to be held on Tuesday 10th February 1998 at the
same venue as the conference. People wishing to organise such
workshops or tutorials are invited to submit a precis by Monday 6th
October 1997.
Special Sessions
----------------
It is envisaged that the conference will include special sessions on
topics such as:
Rule Extraction & Connectionist Knowledge Representation
Modelling Higher Cognitive Processes
Computational Learning Theory
Submissions
-----------
Papers should be submitted to the ACNN'98 Secretariat as close as
possible to final form and must not exceed 5 single pages (2 column
format, 10pt or more). Details, a LaTeX style file and a LaTeX
template file are available via the WWW page:
http://www.elec.uq.edu.au/acnn98/
Electronic submissions in PostScript or Microsoft Word format will be
welcomed.
ACNN'98 will include a special poster session devoted to recent work
and work-in-progress. Abstracts are solicited for this session (1
page limit) and may be submitted up to 10 days before the commencement
of the conference. They will not be refereed or included in the
proceedings, but will be distributed to attendees upon arrival.
Students are especially encouraged to participate in this session.
