NEURAL NETWORK BASED MODELING OPPORTUNITY IN RESEARCH / CONSULTING / MARKETING
 
During NIPS'96, we will be interviewing for a challenging position at the
newly founded startup enterprise, based in Boston, MA.

The successful applicant for this job should have a Masters, Ph.D. or MBA in
computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, economics, finance, or a
related field. Experience in using statistical artificial intelligence such
as neural networks and other approximation and modeling methods, as well as
interest in finance, economics, and their underlying structural processes
are crucial. The applicant should be willing to work in close collaboration
with other group members, and should be full of creativity, enthusiasm and
flexibility, and also enjoy traveling to conferences and customers for
consulting purposes.

In the first phase, we will develop some case studies in finance, marketing,
and Internet related applications using the advanced simulator platform SENN
(Software Environment for Neural Networks). This engaging work will leave
space for the applicant's ideas and creativity. It will focus on solutions
for real-world problems. The possibility of collaboration with Prof. Andreas
Weigend, New York (Stern School of Business, NYU), and Dr. Georg Zimmermann,
Munich (Siemens AG Corporate Research and Development) exist.

Subsequent opportunities include advising top US companies in their data
modeling efforts, as well as introducing state-of-the-art research and its
software implementation to the relevant communities. In the longer run, we
also expect significant contribution to development and implementation of a
sales and marketing strategy for SENN.

We expect the applicant to start working on January 1, 1997.
