Postdoctoral Position in Cognitive Neuroscience
Institute of Computational and Cognitive Sciences
Georgetown University, Washington DC

A postdoctoral/research fellow position is available immediately in the
brain and vision lab at the institute of computational and cognitive
sciences at Georgetown university. Research focuses on the neural basis
of visual cognition combining behavioral and imaging techniques (fMRI,
ERPs). Particular research areas within the lab include the mechanisms
of visual attention and scene/object perception in normal adults as well
as the study of plastic changes in the visual system after altered
experience (either due to learning or altered sensory experience as in
congenitally deaf individuals).

Applicants should have a strong background and education in cognitive
neuroscience. Special consideration will be given to candidates with
prior experience in computational neuroscience or/and familiar with
imaging techniques. Appointment is due to start on August 1st, 1996 or
as soon as possible thereafter. The institute offers a variety of
laboratories in the field of cognitive neuroscience using investigation
techniques such as single cell and optical recordings in behaving
monkeys and bats, a 7T fMRI for animal studies and a 1.5T fMRI for human
subjects.

Applicants should send a CV, summary of relevant research experience and
the name and addresses of at least two referees to: Dr. Daphne Bavelier.
