University of Nijmegen, Postdoctoral Fellowship

The Foundation for Neural Netwokrs at the University of Nijmegen has a
vacancy for a postdoctoral fellow for a theoretical research project.
The project consists of the development of novel theory, techniques and
implementations for perception and cognitive reasoning in a
complex dynamic multi-sensory environment. The results will be explored
both in robotics and in multi-media applications. The
fundamental problems which could be addressed within the context of this project
are for instance: Sub-symbolic symbolic interfacing, learning in a changing
environment, or probabilistic knowledge representation combining neural
networks and AI techniques such as Bayes networks.
The project includes a group of about 10 scientists with participation from
the University of Amsterdam (robotics-group) and Utrecht (research group
on 3_d computer vision) and is funded by the Japanese Real World
Computing Program.
