The following two papers are available via WWW and anonymous FTP.

The paper, "Nonlinear nonequilibrium non-quantum non-chaotic
statistical mechanics of neocortical interactions," is available as
file smni96_nonlinear.ps.Z. smni96_nonlinear is an invited BBS
commentary on "Dynamics of the brain at global and microscopic scales:
Neural networks and the EEG," by J.J. Wright and D.T.J. Liley.

The paper, "Adaptive simulated annealing of canonical momenta
indicators of financial markets," is available as file
markets96_momenta.ps.Z. Some extrapolations to and from EEG systems
are also discussed, as first mentioned in smni95_lecture.ps.Z,
outlining a project, performing recursive ASA optimization of
"canonical momenta" indicators of subject's/patient's EEG nested in
parameterized customized clinician's rules. markets96_momenta shows
how canonical momenta indicators just by themselves can provide signals
for profitable trading on S&P 500 data. This demonstrates that
inefficiencies in nonlinear nonequilibrium markets can be used to
advantage in trading, and that such canonical momenta can be considered
to be at least useful supplemental indicators in other trading
systems. Similar arguments are made for EEG analyses.
