The Machine Learning and Perception group at Ricoh's California Research
Center in Menlo Park, CA is looking for a skilled C programmer to assist in
the development and implementation of machine learning and image processing

Support Programmer/Research Engineer

Position responsibilities:

   * The successful candidate will be responsible for developing code and
     using existing software to perform simulations (in C/Unix on a
     SPARCstation) of new pattern recognition/machine learning/image
     processing algorithms developed in cooperation with others.
   * She or he will work on a number of projects concurrently, quickly
     comprehending the technology and contributing as appropriate. He or she
     will document and report work, make oral presentations, and assist in
     technology transfer efforts. A background in pattern recognition,
     neural networks, image processing, machine learning, or parallel
     programming is very desirable, but not essential.

Candidate requirements:

   * Strong C programming and Unix skills (experimental, not necessarily
     production) -- Work experience involving programming of more than two
     years or advanced degree
   * Strong demonstrated learning ability
   * Excellent verbal and communication skills
   * Good organizational ability
   * Masters degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering,
     Computer Science or related field
   * Optional: knowledge or experience with parallel programming, neural
     networks, pattern recognition....
