and private research communities.  QDI, a comparatively small, new, and 
secure company in the adaptive systems field, is looking for a few top 
developers capable of working in an atmosphere that brings together basic 
research and applications nd emphasizes freedom of thinking, expression, 
and intellectual creativity. The description that follows, for general 
consumption, is by necessity rather limited in terms of the details that 
are given about specific projects, but persons who are seriously looking 
for a long-term committed situation that has opportunities in several 
application domains relating to pattern classification and recognition, 
data compression, approximation, and prediction can make direct contact

Unique opportunities in application development and basic research in 
fields of neurocomputing and adaptive, intelligent systems.  Positions 
with well-funded company in new mid-Wisconsin R&D center, closely linked 
with leading international academic and corporate groups.  Seeking: 
enterprising, creative, bold thinkers and doers with experience in 
object-oriented software design (C, C++, Smalltalk) and background in 
parallel processing, neural nets, genetic algorithms, fuzzy logic, 
hardware design, or pure and applied mathematics/physics.  Prior 
experience in both research and application-building a plus, as well as 
demonstrated skills in presenting, teaching, writing and other 
communication.  Technical and academic backgrounds from diverse 
scientific fields will be considered; advanced degrees are a plus but not
