ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
PSYCHOPHYSICS/COGNITIVE AND COMPUTATIONAL 
NEUROSCIENCE/ NEUROPHYSIOLOGY

We invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position
in the Computation and  Neural Systems Program and  in the Division of
Biology at  the California Institute  of Technology.  Applicant should
conduct research toward understanding  higher perceptual and cognitive
functions in humans  and other primates.   The  candidate should carry
out   a research  program  in at  least  two of   the following areas:
psychophysics,    computational  and  cognitive    neuroscience,   and
behavioral neurophysiology.   The initial   appointment term is   four
years,     and   appointment  is   contingent      upon  completion of
PhD.  Applicants  should submit a curriculum   vitae, a description of
research  and three    reprints,  and arrange for   three  letters  of
