                 Postdoctoral Position in

       Intelligent Characterisation (Modelling) and Control
                of Plasma Etching Processes

Applicants are invited to apply for a 3 year Postdoctoral position
in the above area. The primary objective of the project is to
develop real-time intelligent modelling and control methods for
reactive ion etching of semi-conducting materials. The research
grant is funded by EPSRC as a ROPA award. Both experimental and
modelling work will be involved and candidates should ideally have
experience in experimental physics (optical emission spectroscopy,
laser interferometry) and neural net/neuro-fuzzy control techniques.
Applicants with experience in either one of the areas and a strong
interest in the other area are encouraged to apply.

The position will be on the RA1A scale with a salary in the range
13,941-20,953 (UK pounds) and will commence as soon as possible.
