POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSISTANT
EVOLUTIONARY ALGORITHMS IN NON-LINEAR SIGNAL PROCESSING
Applications are invited for this SERC-funded post, tenable for
three years from 1 October 1993 or soon after, to carry out a
comparison of the effectiveness of evolution-based algorithms for
a number of signal processing problems. This comparison will be
done by study of example problems and developing theoretical ideas
concerning the behaviour of these algorithms. The successful
applicant will join a group investigating several different
aspects of genetic algorithms and neural networks. Royal Holloway,
one of the five multi-faculty Colleges of the University of
London, is situated in a campus environment approximately 20 miles
west of London, just outside the M25.
Applicants should hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer
Science, Physics, or a related field, preferably in digital signal
processing or genetic and/or other evolution-based algorithms.
Salary on the Research 1A Scale (UKpounds 14,962 - 17,320 pa,
inclusive of London Allowance).
