I am sorry to have to transmit the very sad news that Ed Posner, the President of the NIPS Foundation, was killed this morning in a bicycling accident in Pasadena. All his many friends and colleagues will want to join me in expressing our painful feelings at such a tragic loss. Jack Cowan
