Applications are invited for a three year computational project 
studying the effects of damage on the performance of neural 
networks and other distributed systems, in order to elucidate
the inferences that can be made about normal cognitive function
from the patterns of breakdown in brain damaged patients. Previous
experience in cognitive psychology and/or neural networks is
desirable, preferably at the doctoral level. The post is funded
by the Joint Councils Initiative in Cognitive Science/HCI
awared to Dr Nick Chater.   The closing date is 3 December, and 
the starting date will be between 1 January and 1 March 1992.
