Dr. Barto's postscript files are quite large, and apparently have been
difficult to transmit to certain machines. There are standard Unix
utilities, called "compress" and "uncompress" which replace "file"
with "file.Z" and replace "file.Z" with "file", respectively.

Rather than replacing them, however, I have added compressed versions
of Dr. Barto's files to the neuroprose directory. In general,
compressing postscript seems like a good idea, since 70%
compression yields a lot of file space and speed improvement in
transmission. Note that one needs to use BINARY mode in ftp to
transfer these files, whereas TEXT mode worked for both tex and ps.
