Subject: small victory

Team,

I've just learned that our joint proposal with partners at IST, the famed
Tecnico, of Lisbon Portugal, has been founded by the CMU-Portugal program.
The story was built on the work done by our recent visitor Goncalo
Mesquita, and had contributions from Mononito since the method of choice to
model human motion in videos was actually MOMENT.

This is a really small funding intended to foster a collaboration, at our
side it only covers approx. 1 day per week of a doctoral student cost for a
year. But we can use it to develop bids for more money in the future.

So, I am not bragging about its funding volume here, what is exceptional is
that this proposal was ranked very firmly as #1 in the reviews of this
year's batch.
It may mean that we still know how to write effective proposals :)

Hi,
  as all of you should know already, there will be a power outage in the
Wean Hall this weekend.
Our machines located in the server room will  be powered down late
afternoon on Thursday, May 15th.
Please save all your work by then.
If everything goes well our machines should be back up and running sometime
afternoon on Sunday, May 18th.
