Very interesting program that may lead to an experience that would be
useful in practice and look very neatly on anyone's resume.

Dear Fellow ADGP members,
I hope you don't mind be using the list to introduce a new program that I
hope will be of interest to many of your graduate students.
Alfredo González-Espinoza
<https://www.library.cmu.edu/about/people/alfredo-gonzalez-espinoza>, our
Research Data Services Librarian, will be leading the Tartan Research Data
Alliance <https://guides.library.cmu.edu/dataalliance>, a program starting
in the fall that aims to foster good research data management and sharing
practices across CMU, particularly in light of the new federal mandates.
Becoming a Tartan Research Data Alliance fellow is an opportunity for
graduate students, post-docs, early career researchers, and research
support staff who are interested in developing their research data skills
and serving as ambassadors for good data practices in their centers and
labs. Fellows will learn about funder requirements, open science principles
such as FAIR and CARE, and best practices in and options for managing and
sharing research data.
Fellows will be expected to serve a one- to three-year term, attend at
least three annual training sessions with further optional opportunities,
benefit from a dedicated online community space for sharing and problem
solving, and serve as data liaisons between their research communities and
the libraries.
We encourage you to share this opportunity with your labs, research groups,
and with relevant graduate student and postdoctoral communities. For more
information, please visit the program overview website
<https://guides.library.cmu.edu/dataalliance>.
Thanks so much for letting me invade your inbox. If you have any questions,
please don't hesitate to reach out!
With best wishes for a fruitful summer,
Nicky
