Friends,

TL:DR I am ok, but will have to spend a few more days in the hospital.

After a couple of days in the ICU, I was moved to the regular onco
surgery ward and some adversities started showing up. Most significantly, a
blood clot was found in my right lung. It was discovered quickly and
treatment was started promptly. It looks now that the situation is under
dynamic control, and most likely this 3rd in my life isolated episode of
Pulmonary Embolism will not kill me.
When I had my 2nd PE, I was told that it is very unusual to survive two of
these. Not sure if there are any stats about 3? Anyhow, the progress is
good along this direction.
Healing from surgery, even if slowed down by anticoagulation therapy
required by the PE, moves forward as well. But I will have to have one more
imaging test and very likely a small procedure,
then recover from it, before I will be let out of here. So, the best case
scenario for me to go home would be Tuesday, the realistic: a couple to a
few days later, but in the coming week.

The general plan remains unchanged: to recover fully and get back to the
swing of things asap. I remain in good spirits and keep learning that the
limits of what one can take and go through are mostly in our heads, and
looking back at things, they do not look that scary bad after all.

Thank you so much for cheering for me all the way, for prayers (yes, they
definitely help!) and wishes.

I will be back in action soon.

Cheers,
Artur
