lop1 is decommissioned due to the hardware failure. It is not mentioned

lion works as expected for me with my regular user account

If it is not working for you it might be due to your own computer
problems. 

bash is overloaded because somebody is moving 2.4 TB of data through it.
I have no control over behavior of my own kids let alone conduct of the
people in the lab.

If I am still healthy next week I will make a trip to CMU and fix Xen1.
There are almost 100K of Covid today and there are at least few cases at
CMU to my knowledge. I do have enough hardware to bring add the forth
shell gateway but it seems that people would prever to be able to VPN
directly to computing nodes. I would prefer to spend my time figuring
out what would be the safest way for the lab infrastructure to have VPN
gateway.
