root at lov6$ pwd
/opt/rh/rh-git218/root/bin
root at lov6$ ./git --version
git version 2.18.1


The stock Red Hat git version is much older so we prefer to use the
one which comes from Scientific Computing repos. Path in your shell
configuration file need to be updated accordingly.
