Dear Autonians,
Another computing node affected by recent crash of Lyre, LOT2 is rebuilt,
plugged into LDAP and back in business. This is the last computing node to
be switched to LDAP and installed with a clone or Red Hat 6.5. When
software RAID 6 is fully assembled (hopefully by tomorrow) LOT2 will have
close to 3TB of local storage space. This is an opportunity to remain you
LOT2 machine specs 16 cores and 64 GB of RAM. It also came to my attention
that very few if any of you are using LOT1 which is even nicer machine
with 24 cores and 128 GB of RAM and close to 1TB local storage space.
Yes LOV3, LOV4, and LOW1 are nicer machines but they are very crowded and
LOT[1-2] are definitely worth looking. Software highlights as usual:
GCC 4.8.2 (look at /opt/rh)
MATLAB 2014a (2014b is not released yet).
Python 2.7.3 soon to be updated to 2.7.8 please use python2.7 command
R-3.1.1
TeXLive 2014 (look at /usr/local/TeXLive and add the path to your personal
profile if you want to use it instead of default system TeXLive 2007 which
is used by R and many packages as dependency).
Most Kind Regards,
Predrag Punosevac
