Dear Autonians,
I finally have little bit of good news. I was able reassemble old RAIDs on
Lyre and mount data
md125 : active raid6 sdl1[7] sdk1[3] sdm1[5] sdj1[2] sdi1[1] sdn1[6] sdh1[0]
9767553920 blocks super 1.2 level 6, 64k chunk, algorithm 2 [7/7]
[UUUUUUU]
bitmap: 0/15 pages [0KB], 65536KB chunk
md126 : active raid6 sdd[1] sdg[4] sde[2] sdc[0] sdq[6] sdo[7] sds[8]
10737410560 blocks super 1.2 level 6, 512k chunk, algorithm 2 [7/7]
[UUUUUUU]
[root at lyre ~]# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/vg_lyre-lv_root 50G 2.0G 45G 5% /
tmpfs 5.9G 0 5.9G 0% /dev/shm
/dev/sda1 485M 39M 421M 9% /boot
/dev/mapper/vg_lyre-lv_home 175G 188M 166G 1% /home
/dev/md125 9.0T 8.3T 294G 97% /data/auton
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00 10T 8.8T 1.3T 88% /data/backup
Which means that I have access to your data. That is a good news. However
IMHO the whole Lyre setup is one big joke which is unsustainable. As of
tomorrow I will start migrating all remaining data from Lyre in systematic
fashion to new file servers.
If you have high priority data, project, repo please ping me so that we
can migrate things in the orderly fashion.
No file system access except to people with special needs (Lab directors
etc) will be given to Lyre and this is officially the end of old
infrastructure. In lieu of the above Lofty (NIS server) will be retired
tomorrow at 3:00 PM, LOT2 will be rebuilt and plug into LDAP
infrastructure as soon as people claim their data from that RAID 5 (please
e-mail if you have data on LOT2). Lop1 will be rebuild as shell gateway
and plugged in LDAP. LOS1 is garbage and I think it would be the best to
retire it.
Most Kind Regards,
Predrag Punosevac
Best,
Predrag
