Dear Auton Lab users,

Our file server is almost full

/dev/md2              9.0T  8.1T  420G  96% /media/array01

Note in what follows I will refer to /media/array01 as
/auton which is symbolically linked to media/array01.

While we are looking at possible short and long term
solutions to this problem I would like to ask you to try
to do some house cleaning and possibly reduce the space
user before the whole thing goes down like a house of cards.
This is the current break up of server space usage

2.6T    /auton/archive
533G    /auton/backup
2.2T    /auton/data
2.1T    /auton/home
346G    /auton/project
4.3G    /auton/repos
 95G    /auton/software
 23G    /auton/tmp
238G    /auton/userdirs

While some of those directories can not be reduced like backup
directory which contains backups of our Windows machines some of
the directories definitely could use some early semester cleaning.
My prime targets are home and archive directories. Without trying
to put anybody on the spot these are top 65 users of the home
directories:

Could you please review your use of resources on our File server and clean
unnecessary stuff. The key word is unnecessary. I am not asking anybody to
delete things they need.
